at its very first start, the new label founded by conrad van orton proposes a vinyl of his own with two original tracks on the a side, november and captivity archives. and two great remixers such as vsk and the mysterious annuled user on the other. just as the needle starts to mark the passage, the classic four quarters give life to a beat that between one step and another compresses catapulting reality in a classic industrial scenario of mid-autumn where the clear sky gets marked by black and deep plots. a background noise accompanies the whole programming part of the drumming that gives off a relentless pace. on the a side captivity archives reconfirms the industrial nature of cvo with a look towards distant galaxies ..... with the needle still hot we turn around the record to the b side. here we find the vsk remix with a more ambient and crystal clear sound. to the original drum, vsk, choose an equally technical percussion. all home made. last but not least the contribution given by annulled user. trademark? techno! .. and there is nothing here to mess about with. 4/4 dry, hard which feel anger and rebellion desire. the kick, fairly present, is ripped apart by some demonic filters. the 5.30 min of annulled user are a reminiscence of the 90s.

worx very cleverly tap up in-demand parisian dj and producer the mekanism for its first release here, squeezing out three of the artist s finest tracks to date. >bogoto< fuses a disco groove and 70s strings with some classic deep house piano, and creates a heavenly peak time roller, while >2 galactic< is pure 80s hip house fire, fusing cut-up vocals with a pounding late night groove. taking things down a notch, singing beasts goes deep and jazzy to close proceedings on whats another great addition to the producers discography, and a sterling first outing for worx.

valentino kanzyani has been producing spellbinding electronic dance for well over a decade, but its perhaps on *psiamsterdam* that the slovenian dj and producer has created some of most his hallucinatory and psychedelic work to date. the sleeve depicts a kaleidoscopic blend of amphibians and mushrooms in splashes of vibrant colour, a fitting visual to the music contained within.

the 3 originals explore some warm synthesizer soundscapes on this one. patrick krieger shows his affinity to intense atmospheric pads and notes while s-tek and ad.lib deliver some weird bell-like hooklines.

elbee bad the prince of dance music belong to the house music history. early producer from new york city in the late eighties (on the famous nu groove records) recently repressed on rush hour with *the true story of house music*, elbee is here alongside with some of the most talented actual producers: kiani and his legion, arttu, qlons.

breathtaking contemporary spiritual jazz from south africa ... when tumi mogorosi composed this suite for jazz musicians and opera vocalists he had never heard the previous successful attempts by donald byrd, max roach or mary lou williams to combine these seemingly unfriendly aesthetics. tumi, born in 1987 and already an accomplished drummer on the joburg scene, was at the time studying music at the tshwane university of pretoria where he became close friends with opera singers working on the same campus. so unlike some of his us peers tumis beliefs are not religious.

hardmoon london continues its new found adventure by releasing another piece of the impure sound it thrives on. this time bringing in chicago legend: gene hunt. hunt takes a look back into the history books of chicago with some no-nonsense gritty acid tracks that have been designed to shatter teeth and jaws alike.

following their ongoing relationship with soma records, ukrainian duo woo york are set to release their new record that proves to be somewhat representative of recent dramatic events in their country. entitled i am against, both the main track and the ep itself are referring to the developments that lead to revolutionary struggle of the ukrainian people. fighting inequality, saying what you have to say and doing what you have to do seem to be the core ideas of the record. you might have figured that out yourself by spotting a rebel protester from january’s clash with riot police depicted on the record sleeve. the ep also features a special remix from uk techno producer, Ø phase. music-wise the ep presents the same idea: the epic energy of the title track highlights the drive that was fuelling peaceful individuals to go out onto the streets and fight for their rights. an excellent remix from Ø phase follows a similar path, although in its own original way that has made the uk-based artist’s name associated with the finest techno to date. closing the ep ‘in the end’ is a more abstract side of woo york’s music works that reminds us once again: every single act of violence is bound to come to an end at some point.

h45 sees manchester s tomson (freerange) & eddie leader (hudd traxx) colloborate with chicago legend chez damier. this project has been in a long time in the making and came about when chez met eddie at his house & techno night content manchester. chez was at the start of his comeback and they were introduced by mutual friend joshua, a former prescription and hudd traxx artist. the meeting resulted in chez becoming good friendswith tomson & leader and laying down some vocals in the studio for the manchester pair. h45 is a new catalogue number for the hudd traxx family

from the executive producer chez damier come a special edition release marking the 20th anniversary of balance and prescription records. side a. the mission: lavida (life) is a project and group from switzerland that was produce by chez damier and italian producer demetrio giannice, the track is deep with choped vocals of chez and chaka khan, very chord driven with a jazzy feel as the break of the track. a2. is a young group of french producers from paris called siler & dima , thomas zander with track called: inappropriate, a deep driven track with spoken words , more minimal and was inspired by some of ron and chez early works, this is for sure new school and very club friendly. side b is a remastered version of the rare prescription underground mix of ron trent and chez damier s classic --the choice-- this is one of the dance classics that helped shaped a new underground sound for the club, with ripping synth, raw snares and high strings, this 20 year old track hold up as well as a track made today.

up next for aus is label head will saul. following his vocal heavy collaboration album as close for !k7 last year this 12? sees will venture back to the dance floor for some light relief. with anticipation for the release of his dj-kicks mix in june growing, he lets these two tracks loose to tide listeners over.
